Scamtrak

Stephen and I have a meeting scheduled in San Francisco this Thursday, so we thought of taking the train into Richmond, and then hopping on the BART to finish the rest of the trip into the city.  Seems like a plan, right?  Well, the ticket fare for 2 adults came to $84 (!!!!) so we gave Scamtrak the finger and will contribute to traffic, pollution, and road rage by driving there instead.  At least we tried, I guess.

P.S. Amtrak’s new logo is about as classic as an American-made sport utility vehicle.

Yes, they don’t make it worth it: It’s horrendously priced, slow moving, and frequently experiences delays. Are you doing a trip in and out the same day? There could be lunch.

Perhaps the Universe is trying to tell you that it’s time to beat the Sacto heat by taking a little trip down into our lovely, er, fog and wind.
