There is an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s show No Reservations where he eats and drinks his surly way around some Canadian province and at some point lays waste to an epicurean dreamscape prepared in a minimalist kitchen of only electric hot plates and microwaves.
Floyd “hates exposition,” but there it is.
Stephen likes to buy these vegan Korean spicy ramen packs and hoard them in the pantry next to the lifetime supply of Charmin Extra Soft. Stephen also told me the ancient technique of adding hot water and then microwaving the noodles until they’re pliably delicious.
Game sees game.
Floyd brings in little cartons of eggs of varying colors and sizes. This is because his chickens are of varying colors and sizes. Some days I’ll come in and there will be a half carton next to my keyboard there to greet me.
Game. Set. Match.
I ****ing love kale. You can freeze a massive bag of the ol’ triple washed-n-cut organic, then pull that puppy out and sautée or put in soups or whathaveyou (You can have it all. With kale.®) I particularly like shoving a huge bag into the mini fridge freezer here and then toasting it in the counter top toaster oven that lives on the microwave.
Game over, man.
