Big changes in my life recently have made me realize that I’m no longer a kid. Sigh.
On July 18th, Tory and I bought our first home. It was a very long and stressful process (we started looking in FEBRUARY!), but we’re very happy in our little house. After living there for a while, the thing that strikes me the most about it is how quiet our neighborhood is. After living downtown on 9th Street (across from a very busy bus stop) for a year and a half, it’s a nice change. I do wish I was a bit closer to work…and hopefully one day we can afford a home in the downtown/midtown area.
He was on his knee…with a jewelry box!
A week after we closed escrow, Tory and I were in his parents’ backyard relaxing after work. I got up to go into the house, and he grabbed my hand and turned me around. He was on his knee…with a jewelry box! He proposed and of course I said yes and thus commenced the wedding planning (eek)! We’ve chosen our date (October 4th, 2009) and our venue, but there’s still a ton of stuff to figure out.
Being a grown up is stressful at times, but at least I’m not bored 🙂
